The REbEL Project: Creative with Purpose
The Problem
The climate crisis affects everyone, but people with disabilities are too often left out of the solution.
Despite the urgency, most environmental policies, climate action plans, and eco-initiatives overlook the disabled community entirely. Out of 192 nations, only 37 even mention disability in their climate pledges. That’s not just a gap—it’s a glaring failure of inclusion that fuels inequality, both ecological and social.
But the problem isn’t only in politics—it’s baked into the economy, too.
People with severe disabilities are constantly shut out of meaningful work. Traditional employment doesn’t accommodate them. Vocational programs are underfunded and uninspired. Entrepreneurship? It’s treated like a pipe dream. Families are left cobbling together options in a system that offers little more than empty slogans.
Meanwhile, consumers are exhausted.
You want to support real sustainability. You want handmade, ethical products with values you can believe in—not mass-produced “eco” goods slapped with a greenwashed label. You want to feel good about what you buy and who you’re supporting.
The Opportunity
At Route T21, we believe sustainability should be inclusive—or it isn’t sustainable at all.
We're here to challenge the broken model. We're closing the gap between disability and environmental justice. And we’re building something different—a model where:
Sustainability is about progress, not perfection.
People with disabilities aren’t left behind—they lead.
Eco-conscious shoppers get the real deal: purpose-driven products made by hands that have been told “no” their whole lives—and chose to create anyway.
The REbEL Against Perfection Initiative
Perfection is overrated. Self-expression is everything.
Tommy is a REbEL—not just because of his art, but because of what it stands for. Born with Down syndrome, autism, and brain damage, Tommy doesn’t fit the mold. He doesn’t even look at the mold. He paints right past it—bold, wild, and free.
Our home studio is powered by joy, recycled materials, and a mission: to give Tommy a future with dignity. Through REbEL Against Perfection, he’s learning real skills—creative, vocational, and entrepreneurial. Every canvas is part of his training. Every product is a step toward independence.
And he’s not alone. As this initiative grows, so will the opportunities for others like him to earn, to be seen, and to take part in building a more just and beautiful world.
Why It Matters—for All of Us
Here’s the truth: our society’s obsession with speed, flawlessness, and polished appearances? It’s not working. For the planet, or for the people.
REbEL Against Perfection is about rejecting that myth and offering something more honest—and more hopeful. It’s about creating products that:
✨ Real impact isn’t about perfection.
✨ It’s about showing up.
✨ It’s about giving people a voice.
✨ It’s about creating something that’s both beautiful and just.
By supporting this project, you’re not just buying something eco-friendly—you’re investing in equity. In dignity. In a future that doesn’t leave anyone behind.
You’re showing the world that sustainability isn’t just about what we buy—it’s about who we lift up when we buy it.
Join the Movement
This starts with Tommy, but it’s not about him alone.
It’s about all the people left out of the green conversation. It’s about art that expresses, not impresses. And it’s about rewriting the rules of what impact looks like—together.
Support REbEL Against Perfection. Be part of something radically real.
✨ Inclusion isn’t an add-on—it’s the foundation.
✨ Sustainability isn’t just eco—it’s ethical.
✨ And perfection? We’re over it.
The REbEL Shop is coming soon.
Tommy’s been working on it with his Occupational Therapist, and now his Aunt has joined the journey to help create his very first jewelry collection—crafted with care, recycled materials, and plenty of heart.
